Reporting to the Retail Manager, the Operations Manager is responsible for the overall management of the store’s operations, leading to an optimum client service. The Operations Manager provides recommendations and solutions to efficiently run the business, optimizes the overall retail store operations and performance, implement best practices, and enforces policies, procedures, and operational directives.
Job responsibilities:
Store Facility and Maintenance
- Manage and maintain the store facility, inclusive of all cleaning, repair, and replacement of damaged fixtures, furniture, registers, and other related items to facility.
- Oversee maintenance on all lighting and electrical systems as required.
- Ensure organization of all back of house areas, stock rooms, maintenance rooms, alternations, rest rooms and hold areas in accordance with company standards.
- Serve as direct liaison between all sub-contractors and vendors to verify work standard and condition of store.
Policies and procedures - Ensure proper store operations are according to Company policy.
- Be able to operate the POS system in all areas relating to stock transfer, payment, stock inquiry and client database input.
Financial Management
- Control store expenses and ensure accurate records of all store expenses.
- Ensure proper procedures are being met in regards to cash, credit and check processing.
- Control petty cash in accordance with company's policy and procedure.
Inventory Management - Meet accuracy and shrink goals.
- Manage, facilitate, and ensure completion of all inventories and cycle counts in accordance with company guidelines. Complete monthly audits.
- Process necessary action to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Manage store damages in a timely manner.
Loss Prevention
- Collaborate with and support LP department in all areas of risk management, physical security, store cash controls, inventory management, inter-store communication, and LP audits.
- Liaison with guard company for scheduling, training and management of guards if necessary.
Equipment and Systems
- Manage and maintain all store equipment inclusive of office equipment, computers, phones, registers, alterations, music, ticket machines, etc.
- Ensure proper order on packaging material, stationary, CRM materials etc
- Maintain depth and accurate records of repair (After Sales Service follow up); train the retail team as needed.
Shipping and Receiving
- Oversee all processing of shipments, transfers, and consignments.
- Ensure optimum customer after sales service, accuracy, and integrity
- Maintain and order all supplies necessary.
- Support and comply with product transfer, rebalances, end of season transfers and any other corporate driven product movements.
Human Resources
- Ensure all HR paperwork is processed correctly in a timely manner.
- Ensure all client advisors are aware of and abide by all HR policies.
- New Hire Training on back-office procedure, including POS.
- Ensure all client advisors are aware of and abide by all POS policies.
In Market
Retail Performance
- To supervise (both stores) are up to our Top store standards.
- To implement top store corrective action if necessary.
- To be company representative and meet local authority if necessary.
- To witness stock destruction.
- To manage after sales service.
- Any other ad hoc store projects.
Profile:
- Degree holder in business or related discipline
- Minimum 5 years of high-volume retail experience, luxury experience preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in store operations
- Ability to manage schedules and deadlines
- Strong organizational and time management skills; able to prioritize
- Ability to use POS system and inventory management function
- Strong drive for results; goal oriented, pro active and willing to think “outside the box”
- Excellent interpersonal & communication skills: the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within the team
- Proficient in MS Office; especially Excel and Power Point
