Technical Research & Development Specialist – Leather and Fabrics

Position:

Mission

The position is located in Bagno a Ripoli (Firenze). Within the MAN LG Product Development Office the candidate will follow all the activities related to the materials research (Leather, Fabrics), considering both stylistic and production needs.

Main Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the style office for the stylistic trends and to check research results;
• Materials research and development;
• Define a raw materials development specification;
• Collaborate with Quality Department in order to define the technical aspects, testing activities for raw material and to verify compliance according to the company's qualitative parameters;
• Use the database (Modelform) to register the technical data sheets of materials shared with suppliers;
• Monitor the orders of samples leather;
• Control the quality and industrialization of raw materials;
• Anticipating and managing production issues, proposing solutions when required.

Profile:

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or equivalent;
• Experience (4/5 years) in the fashion industry or tanneries;
• An experience in industrialization of leather is considered a plus;
• Excellent knowledge of materials (Leather and Fabric) and of production processes;
• Strong attention to new trends and research;
• Ability to work under pressure;
• Good knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, Power Point)
• Fluent in Italian, good knowledge of English.
